In 1947, Alfred Zindel founded the business and to this day, it is still family-run and located in central Germany. Initially focussing on the distribution of fresh fruit from the region, our focus today is on frozen fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, and convenience products.

Long-term international partnerships and carefully selected suppliers enable us to ensure reliable and controlled sourcing throughout the entire supply chain. We maintain our high quality standards through regular supplier inspections, our own packaging line and certified processes.

Reliable deliveries are ensured through our in-house logistics fleet. This enables us to respond with maximum flexibility to our customers’ short-term requirements. At the same time, by fueling our fleet with HVO100, we are committed to a lower-emission and future-oriented fuel solution.

1947 – Foundation as an individual company by Alfred Zindel for the marketing of local fruit produce

1972 – Conversion into limited partnership 'Witzenhäuser Obstvermarktung Alfred Zindel KG Fruchthandelsgesellschaft'

1975 – Commencement of trading with frozen goods for the food industry

1980 – Commencement of trading with frozen goods for bulk customers

1985 – Construction of an own coldstore

1990 – Expansion of fresh product range into vegetables and European imports

2004 – Conversion to stock company 'Alfred Zindel AG'

2007 – First and since that time recurring successful certification of International Featured Standard (IFS)
